This morning I got back from spending a day at Lae Lae, an island that's only a half-hour from Makassar. My favorite of these pics is the one with the girl and her grandmother studying the Qua-ran in Arabic together. It was such a beautiful moment I got to watch as the grandmother would say the words slowly as her granddaughter repeated them to her. It was really interesting to see these traditions being passed from one generation to another.
